ALTERATIONS OF ANTIOXIDANT ENZYMES DURING ALLOXAN-INDUCED DIABETES (EXPERIMENTAL STUDY)

Our study aimed to assess the activity of blood antioxidant system in animal model alloxan-induced diabetes rats.Diabetes rats was induced by a single intraperitoneally injection freshly prepared 12% aqueous alloxan solution ( 200 mg/kg). The glucose level measured after 1, 2, 3, 10, 15, and 30 days from administration. included only those with levels above 250 mg/dl on 2nd day administration.We investigated enzymes, superoxide dismutase (SOD) catalase (Cat) serum.The results studies show that enzymatic systems rats' sharply increased during first 3 alloxan. That may be due compensatory reaction body response oxidative stress. Afterwards, SOD Cat decreased, which utilization proteins detoxification process ROSs, their glycation decreased protein synthesis at intensive hyperglycemia stress conditions.
